Chefie AI Terms of Service

These Terms are the agreement between you and Deepskim Ltd ("we", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales, for using the Chefie AI app and website. By using Chefie AI you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we use your data.

Please read section 2 on food safety in particular.

1. Using Chefie AI

• You must be 18 or over.
• Chefie AI is offered in the UK and the US.
• You sign in with your Apple Account. Keep it secure, and tell us at deepskim.ltd@gmail.com if you think someone else is using your account.

2. AI, allergies and food safety

Please read this carefully.

Recipes, ingredient lists, nutrition values, allergen, diet and dislike tags, substitutions, answers and pictures in Chefie are generated by AI. They can be wrong or incomplete.

• Always check every ingredient and product label yourself, especially if you or anyone you cook for has an allergy, intolerance or coeliac disease. Chefie's allergen, diet and dislike filtering is an aid, not a guarantee.
• AI can miss a hidden allergen, for example in a stock cube, sauce or spice mix. Brands change their recipes, and products vary. Cross-contamination in factories, shops and kitchens is outside our control.
• Chefie is not medical or dietary advice. If you have a severe allergy, a medical condition, are pregnant or follow a diet for health reasons, follow your doctor's or dietitian's advice.
• Nutrition values are AI estimates, not lab-tested.
• Imported recipes come from third-party posts and pages. We don't check or verify them.
• Cook safely. Take care with knives, hot oil, hot pans and steam. Cook food, especially meat, poultry, fish and eggs, until it's safely cooked through. Cooking times are guides, as ovens and hobs vary. Keep raw and cooked food apart and wash your hands and surfaces. Supervise children in the kitchen.
• Alcohol: some recipes contain alcohol, and not all of it cooks off. Only drink if you're of legal drinking age where you live.

3. Subscriptions

A Chefie AI Pro subscription is needed to use the app.

• Plans: an annual plan and a weekly plan. Any other offer the app shows you comes with its own price and billing period.
• Price and billing period are shown in the app, in your local currency, before you confirm. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm.
• Free trial: the annual plan starts with a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. The weekly plan has no free trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your annual subscription starts automatically and you're charged the annual price.
• Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends. Apple charges your Apple Account within 24 hours before renewal.
• Cancel or change plan in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Chefie AI. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting your account or the app doesn't cancel your subscription.
• Refunds: Apple takes all payments, so we can't give refunds ourselves. Apple handles refund requests under its terms. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
• Price changes: Apple will tell you in advance. If you don't want to pay the new price, cancel before your next renewal.
• Restore: if you change phone, tap Restore Purchase on the subscription screen.

4. Fair use

Every AI request costs us money, so AI features have generous daily fair-use limits. Limits reset at midnight where you are. Daily fair-use limits are the same on every plan, including during a free trial.

If you reach a limit, that feature pauses until the next day. Saved recipes, lists and cook mode for saved recipes keep working. Limits are set so normal home cooking won't hit them, and we won't cut them in a way that affects normal use without telling you first.

5. Your content and imports

• You own your content: your messages, photos, notes, ratings and lists. You let us store and process it only to run Chefie for you, including through our service providers. This ends when you delete it or your account.
• Recipes Chefie makes for you are yours to cook, keep and share with friends and family. Someone else may get a similar recipe.
• Imports are for personal use. Only import content you're allowed to use, and don't remove the creator credit.
• Sharing: anyone with a share link can see what you shared. Don't share anything private.
• Copyright complaints: if you think something on Chefie infringes your rights, email deepskim.ltd@gmail.com with your details, the content and why. We'll review it promptly and remove it where appropriate.

6. Acceptable use

Please don't:

• use Chefie for anything illegal, harmful or abusive;
• get around the paywall, fair-use limits or security, or use bots or scraping;
• copy, resell or build a competing product from Chefie or its outputs;
• reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows;
• upload content you don't have the right to use, or other people's personal information without permission;
• overload or interfere with the service.

7. Our app

Chefie AI, its design, its character "Chefie", our recipe catalogue and our software belong to Deepskim Ltd or our licensors. You may use them only to use Chefie under these Terms.

8. Ending your account

• You can delete your account at any time in Profile → Delete account. Cancel your subscription with Apple too.
• We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, misuse the service, or if the law requires it. We'll tell you why unless we legally can't. If we close it without good reason, we'll support your refund request to Apple.

9. Changes to Chefie

We're always improving Chefie, so features may change. If a change significantly reduces what you pay for, or if we stop the service, we'll tell you at least 30 days in advance where we can, so you can cancel, and we'll support a refund request to Apple for any unused paid period.

10. Our responsibility to you

UK users: we provide Chefie with reasonable care and skill, as described, as the Consumer Rights Act 2015 requires. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.

Everyone:

• We don't exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn't allow us to exclude.
• To the extent the law allows, we're not responsible for loss or harm caused by relying on AI content without checking it as section 2 asks, including allergic reactions to ingredients you didn't check.
• We're responsible for loss that's a foreseeable result of us breaking these Terms. We're not responsible for loss that wasn't foreseeable, or for business losses. Chefie is for personal, household use.
• US users: to the extent your law allows, Chefie is provided "as is", without implied warranties, and our total liability is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the last 12 months or US$100. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms when we add features or the law changes. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect, unless it's needed sooner for legal or safety reasons. If you don't agree, you can cancel and delete your account.

12. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts can hear disputes. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim there. If you live in the US, you keep any rights your local law gives you that can't be overridden. Please contact deepskim.ltd@gmail.com first; most problems are fixed quickly.

13. Apple

If you got Chefie AI from the App Store:

• Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula) also applies. If it conflicts with these Terms on the licence to use the app, Apple's terms win.
• These Terms are between you and Deepskim Ltd, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Chefie AI or its content and has no duty to provide support or maintenance.
• If the app fails a warranty, you can tell Apple, which will refund the price paid (if any). Apple has no other warranty obligation. We, not Apple, handle any claims about the app, including product liability, legal compliance, consumer protection and intellectual property claims.
• You confirm you're not in a country under a US embargo and not on a US list of restricted parties.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and can enforce them against you.

14. Everything else

• If part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
• If we don't enforce something straight away, we can still do so later.
• You can't transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours if Chefie is sold or reorganised, without reducing your rights.
• Nobody else has rights under these Terms, except Apple as set out in section 13.
